Wochnick Just Misses Trip to Indoor National Meet

This morning the NCAA selection committee announced the competitors for next week's NCAA Indoor Championships in Terre Haute, Ind. Pacific Lutheran senior Megan Wochnick missed making the trip to Indiana by the closest of margins.

The committee selected 15 athletes to compete at the national meet in the weight throw with Stacy Griffin of St. Olaf College taking the last spot. Griffin’s toss of 52-1 3/4 was only two inches farther then Wochnick’s throw.

Wochnick met the NCAA Division III national indoor track & field meet provisional qualifying standard when she threw the 20-pound weight 51-11 3/4 (15.84 meters) at the Last Chance Meet hosted by the University of Washington this past weekend.
