Track & Field Team Jump Starts Indoor
Season at WSU Open
PULLMAN – The Pacific Lutheran track & field team had
its first meet of the season this past weekend at the Washington
State Open in Pullman. The meet took place over two days, Friday
the 18th and Saturday the 19th.
The highlight of the meet was junior Taylor Hacker in the weight
throw. On her second to last toss she hit the NCAA Division III
provisional with a throw of 49-9.25. She was the only Division III
athlete in the weight throw and beat two University of Idaho (Division
I) athletes.
Other highlights included Faven Araya in the 400-meter dash. Araya
ran a lifetime best in the event with a time of 1:01.27. There were
a number of new faces that competed for the Lutes. Complete results
of the meet can be found at the top of the release.
The Lutes hit the track next on February 1st at the UW Invitational
in Seattle.
