Freshman Moog Wins Three Events in Willamette Meet

Results

SALEM, Ore. – Isaac Moog had an outstanding performance today at the Charles Bowles Spring Break Classic hosted by Willamette University. The freshman from Centralia won three of the four events he competed in leading PLU to an overall impressive showing.

On the track, Moog (pictured at left) won the 400-meter dash, improving his season best time to 50.20. Moog’s time places him 20th on the PLU all-time top 25 list. He is the first athlete to make the list since 2003. Off the track, Moog won both the long jump (21-09) and the triple jump (43-00.25). Moog’s mark in the triple jump is the fourth longest in the Northwest Conference this season.

Other event winners include Faven Araya, who won both the women's 100-meter hurdles (15.77) and 400-meter hurdles (64.92). Amy LeBrun finished first out of 22 runners in the 200-meter dash (26.25) while placing second in the 100-meter dash (12.77), setting a seasonal best. Joining Araya and LeBrun were Lynette Millard and Lakia Arceneaux to form the winning 4x100-meter relay (50.14). On the field, Taylor Hacker won the hammer throw (159-06).

The Lutes will stay in the Beaver State tonight while some of the athletes compete in the Oregon Preview tomorrow. The meet takes place on historic Hayward Field located in the heart of the University of Oregon campus. The first event will start at 10 a.m.
