Pacific Lutheran Seeks New Women's Basketball Coach

Pacific Lutheran University Athletic Director Laurie Turner announced today that the contract of Gil Rigell, head coach of PLU women’s basketball, will not be renewed. Rigell left the post after the end of the season.

Turner said that a national search will begin soon to find Rigell’s replacement.

“We have a great winning tradition in women’s basketball at PLU. We will be seeking an experienced coaching professional who is committed both to leading a highly competitive program and to academic excellence,” Turner said.

“The qualified candidate will also be highly capable in developing positive relationships with external and internal constituencies in recruiting, fund raising and promotional events,” she said.
