Haag finished with a career-high 17 points to lead
Pacific Lutheran to a 64-41 non-conference women's basketball victory
over Concordia tonight in Cavalier Gymnasium.
With the victory, the Lutes improve their season record to 7-3.
The Cavaliers, 4-11 for the season, were paced by Denise Benedict,
who scored 16 points.
The Lutes scored the first seven points of the game and eventually
built an early 11-point advantage, 14-3, with Haag hitting two of
her five three-point field goals during the run. After that, the
Lutes never led by less than seven points for the remainder of the
game.
Johnson, a senior wing from Tenino, hit 9-of-15 shots from the
field on the way to leading the Lutes in scoring for the eighth
time in nine games this season. Haag, a junior wing from Tumwater,
was 5-of-13 from three-point range, while Trinity
Gibbons, a sophomore point guard from Riddle, Ore.,
finished with 10 assists.
Pacific Lutheran will back in action on Friday and Saturday when
it hosts the PLU Classic. Games are scheduled for 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
on Friday and 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday.
