Colorado Snow Grounds Wisconsin School,
Alters PLU Classic
Heavy snowfall in the Denver, Colo., area has grounded numerous
air travelers, including the UW-Oshkosh women's basketball team
that was scheduled to participate at the PLU Classic on Friday and
Saturday, Dec. 29-30, in Olson Auditorium.
The Titans left Oshkosh for the four-team tournament on Thursday
(Dec. 28), but several feet of snow and hazardous conditions in
Denver cancelled the team's flight from Milwaukee to Denver. The
team was unable to acquire air transportation to the Tacoma area
that bypassed Denver.
Because the Titans are unable to travel, the PLU Classic schedule
will change. Instead of four games over two days, only two games
will be played. On Friday, George Fox University (from Newberg,
Ore.) will play Thompson Rivers University (from Kamloops, B.C.)
at 5 p.m. as scheduled. On Saturday, PLU will host Thompson Rivers,
starting at 5 p.m.
