Half Goal
Match
Statistics
TACOMA – Freshman Jenny McKinsey scored her
third goal of the season in the 68th minute as Pacific Lutheran
defeated the Pacific Boxers, 1-0, in a Northwest Conference women’s
soccer match played Saturday afternoon at the PLU field.
McKinsey, who scored the first two goals of her
collegiate career in PLU’s 2-0 win a week ago at Evergreen
State, tallied this time on an assist from Lauren Meyer. The PLU
defense, which allowed Pacific only three shots during the entire
match, made the goal hold up through the final 22 minutes.
PLU sophomore goalkeeper Amanda Tschauner finished
with two saves and picked up her second shutout of the season.
For the Lutes, who improved their season record to 4-1, it was
their third consecutive “clean sheet” and the fourth
overall in five matches.
Pacific Lutheran enjoyed a 16-3 advantage in shots
and forced Pacific keeper Shannon Tillman to make three saves.
The Lutes return to action at noon Sunday when they
host Lewis & Clark.
