TACOMA, Wash. - Thanks to a pair of goals from Adrienne
Folsom, including the game-winner in the 83rd minute, the Puget
Sound Loggers remained undefeated in Northwest Conference play
with a 2-1 victory over Pacific Lutheran (5-2 overall, 2-1 NWC)
on Wednesday afternoon in Tacoma.
Folsom scored her first goal, and her sixth of the
season, in the 36th minute after taking a pass from Fiona Gornick
and beating the Lute defense. The goal proved to be the only one
in the first half as the teams went into the break with the 1-0
advantage for Puget Sound.

| Jenny McKinsey - six straight
PLU goals |
The game, which only saw a total of four fouls called,
remained relatively calm until the 81st minute when PLU freshman
midfielder Jenny McKinsey (Greenacres, Wash. / West Valley HS)
caught the rebound off Logger keeper Kallie Wolfer and tied the
game up with a goal from about four yards out. McKinsey has scored
in five straight matches and has tallied PLU's last six goals.
The tie game didn't last long as Folsom scored her
conference-leading seventh goal with a beautiful right-footed
strike from just outside the penalty box, giving the Loggers the
lead with just over seven minutes to go.
Puget Sound out-shot the Lutes, 14-12, but the Lutes
had seven shots on goal and forced Wolfer to make six saves.
Pacific Lutheran, which saw its string of shutouts
end at four matches, returns to Northwest Conference action this
Saturday with a noon match against George Fox in Newberg, Ore.
