TACOMA, Wash. – Senior forward Jackie
Oehmcke scored a pair of goals and junior goalkeeper Alyssa
Blackburn recorded a shutout as Pacific Lutheran defeated
Linfield, 4-0, in a Northwest Conference women’s soccer
match played Saturday at the PLU field.
Oehmcke has been on a tear of late for the Lutes and scored her
third and fourth goals in the past four matches. She put the Lutes
on the board at the 12:21 mark on an assist from Amanda
Crawford, and added her second just four seconds from the
halftime whistle when she got an unassisted tally.
The Lutes added a pair of insurance goals in the second half.
Christina McDuffie
tallied at 58:41 on an assist from Breann
Vanden Bos, and Brittney
Beitel finished the scoring at 63:25 on McDuffie’s assist.
Pacific Lutheran, which improved its overall mark to 7-3-1 and
its Northwest Conference record to 4-2-1, out-shot the visiting
Wildcats, 15-7. Linfield goalkeeper Allison Cartmill had to make
five saves, or the score could have been worse. For PLU, Blackburn
came up with three saves to get her fifth shutout of the season.
With the loss, Linfield falls to 3-6-2 overall and 1-4-2 in the
conference.
