Lutheran
Match Statistics
The University of Puget Sound women’s soccer teams came
up with a big Northwest Conference victory over the host Pacific
Lutheran Lutes on Wednesday night at Mt. Tahoma High School, winning
2-0.
The Loggers (10-1-3 overall, 8-1-2 NWC) broke a scoreless tie
at 79:03 when Jenna Dwiggins scored on an assist from Lea John.
Dwiggins’ long-range shot beat Amanda Tschauner to the upper
right corner, leaving the PLU goalkeeper with no chance.
Less than two minutes later, at 81:00, Adrienne Folsom added
an insurance goal for the Loggers when she tapped the ball into
the net after Tschauner misplayed Fiona Gornick’s shot.
Pacific Lutheran (10-4-1 overall, 7-3-1 NWC) put little pressure
on Puget Sound as the Loggers’ defense limited the Lutes
to 10 shots, only one of which UPS goalkeeper Kallie Wolfer had
to save. Meanwhile, the Loggers put six of their 15 total shots
on target, scoring two goals and forcing Tschauner to make four
saves.
The win gives the Loggers a season sweep of the two matches against
the Lutes.
