OLYMPIA, Wash. - Evergreen State broke a 1-1 halftime deadlock with a pair of second half goals and went on to beat Pacific Lutheran, 3-1, in a non-conference women's soccer match on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts took a 1-0 lead at 23:34 when Hannah Etengoff scored her first of two goals. The Lutes knotted the score when Christina McDuffie knocked home Meredith Newby's corner kick exactly six minutes later. Etengoff scored the winning goal at the 48:46 mark and Emily Anderson scored an insurance tally at 77:11.

PLU had 10 shots but McDuffie's goal was its only shot on goal during the match. The Lutes also had five corner kicks to just one for Evergreen, which had eight shots. PLU keeper Amanda Tschauner was credited with two saves.

With the loss, the Lutes fall to 0-2 for the season. They return to action on Sept. 7 when they host Augsburg (Minn.) at 1:30 p.m.
