Whenever Amanda Crawford steps
on the soccer field, expect an infusion of energy and skill
into the match. Crawford brings two years of collegiate experience
to a team that hopes to move into the top half of the Northwest
Conference standings.
Describe
your family. How have they helped you in your athletic career?
I have a wonderful family that has always been there with me through
my athletic career. From my parents carting me around to games
and tournaments, to my brother who always was there to challenge
me and help me learn more about the game.
What made you decide to come
to PLU?
I came to PLU not only to be able to continue my soccer career,
but for the school itself. It seemed the perfect fit to get the
education I need and to continue to do something that I love.
What has been your favorite
class at PLU?
Religion 121 The Old Testament. It was a very enlightening class,
and I was amazed at how much I didn’t know, and how much
we learned in one semester.
Have you had any trouble
balancing athletics with academics?
Sometimes it can be really hard to study on the bus, or during
away games. It always seems like the best idea to take a lighter
load while in season
What are your plans after
college?
After college I plan on attending graduate school for Marriage
and Family Therapy.
When your athletic career
is all said and done, what is it that you would want people to
say about you?
That I was a hard worker who never gave up.
Describe your hometown and
what you miss about it the most.
I grew up in Renton Washington, and the thing that I probably
miss most about it is living at home with my parents and brother.
What is your favorite restaurant
in Tacoma?
The Harmon is always a fun place to go with friends… and
on Mondays they have 3 dollar steak night.
