Pacific Lutheran Ends California Trip With
8-1 Win
THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - The Pacific Lutheran women's tennis team
picked up a win in the final match of its spring break trip to California,
defeating the the California Lutheran University Regals, 8-1, in
a contest played Wednesday on the CLU campus courts.
The Lutes, who improved to 6-7 with the victory, won two of their
three matches in California. Another match against Vanguard was
canceled.
Cal Lutheran's only win came at No. 1 singles where Suz Nomura
beat Erika Feltus in a super-tiebreaker, 6-2, 2-6, 10-6.
Singles winners for Pacific Lutheran were Liz Currey, Ashley Coats,
Ashley Brooks, Esther Ham and Morgan Jones. The doubles teams of
Feltus and Coats, Currey and Brooks and Ham and Jones also won their
matches.
PLU flies back to the Pacific Northwest and gets back to Northwest
Conference action on Friday when it hosts George Fox at 4 p.m.
