PLU Women Place 19th at Sundodger Invitational

SEATTLE – The Pacific Lutheran women finished 19th and the
PLU men were 26th at the Sundodger Invitational hosted by the University
of Washington and held Saturday at Lincoln Park.
A number of outstanding college teams were on hand and perennial
power Simon Fraser won the 23-team women’s competition with
59 total points. The Lutes scored a total of 496 points. The top
individual finisher for the Lutes was Lexie
Miller, who crossed the finish line in 81st place in
a time of 23:58 over the 6000-meter course. Lauren
McDonald was 93rd in a time of 24:12, followed by Michele
Hegg a time of 24:36. Rounding out PLU’s top
five were Katie
Choate, 146th in a time of 25:01, and Chelsea
Berdahl, 189th in a time of 25:46. A total of 265 women
competed.
In the men’s 8000-meter race featuring 281 runners and 28
teams, Chico State was the team winner with 80 points. Pacific Lutheran
finished with 683 team points. The top five finishers for PLU were

149th in a time of 27:36, Mike
Jorgenson, 179th in a time of 28:05, Matthew
Beal, 182nd in a time of 28:09, Mark
Manske, 235th in a time of 29:41 and Andy
Musson, 245th in a time of 30:07.
The Lutes return to action on Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Willamette
Invitational in Salem, Ore.
