Chilcoat, McDonald Lead Lutes at Pacific
Lutheran Invitational
Meet Results
TACOMA, Wash. - The Lutes hosted the Pacific Lutheran University
Invitational on Saturday on the campus golf course. There were a
total of 162 runners and eight teams competing in the 30th running
of the invitational.
On the women’s side, Whitworth’s Julie Lauterbach won
the 6000-meter race in a course record time of 21:58.8. Lauterbach
led the Whitworth Pirates to a first-place finish as a team with
53 points. Western Oregon scored 61 points to finish second and
Lewis & Clark tallied 70 to round out the top three teams. Other
women's team scores were Linfield with 91,St. Martin's with 115,
Pacific Lutheran with 126 and Puget Sound with 176.
Junior Lauren
McDonald was the first finisher for the Lutes, crossing
the line in a time of 23:23.8, good for 15th place overall. Lexie
Miller ran 23:30.6 to place 19th, with Michele
Hegg finishing in 23:50.4 for third among the Lutes
and 26th overall.
Linfield's Harrison Wilson also set a new course record with a time
of 25:14.5 to win the men’s 8000-meter race. Western Oregon
and Whitworth finished in a tie for first in the team competition.
Ties are not broken in non-championship meets such as the PLU Invitational.
Linfield placed third with 58 points, followed by St. Martin's with
118, Lewis & Clark with 133, Puget Sound with 144, Clackamas
CC with 168 and Pacific Lutheran with 200.
Junior Kenneth
Chilcoat led the Lutes, running 26:42.8, good for 22nd
place overall. Freshman John
Pedack was next, finishing 51st with a time of 27:37.
The PLU golf course will be the site of the Northwest Conference
Championship scheduled to take place on October 28. The Lutes compete
next at the Clackamas Invitational on October 14 in Oregon City,
Oregon.
