Text Bar   Home | Projects | Anchors   This technique can be particularly useful if you have a lot of text on a page, or several sections, and you want to enable the users to navigate around the page without having to scroll down the page too much. These are simple to use and simple to create, but not very pretty or eye-catching.

Navigation Bar     The navigation bar uses images in the place of text to act as buttons. These images can be used the same as a button or text bar as a way to navigate a site. The problem with using images it they don't always have an inherent meaning, and not all users will understand the image in relation to its destination.

Jump Menu     The jump menu allows the user to select a destination from a drop down menu. Then by selecting go the user is redirected to the page listed in the jump menu window. Jump menus should contain a concise and organized list, otherwise they are not as valuable to the user.

Image Map     An image map is a device that allows you to insert links to multiple files within a single image. Links within an image map are created by making "hotspots" which are easily drawn over the image. These are a fun and pretty way to create links, but are not as clear to the user.
