Nursing Process

Nursing Process

Objective- Apply the nursing process to the provision of direct and indirect care of individuals, families, and communities in a variety of settings and across diverse populations.

Learning the Nursing Process Through Baby Steps

In NURS 220 I was introduced to the foundations of the nursing process. I learned the 6 steps: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. In the Assisted Living Facility I was able to practice step four of the nursing process- implementation. I was able to provide daily care according to another nurses nursing plan.

Patient Skill List

NURS 270 I learned step one of the nursing process- assessment. There I was able to learn the foundations of assessment and practice assessment skills on a fellow class mate.

Peer Health Assessment

Also in NURS 270 I was aworked with a CHF client to plan with him strategies to improve his health. At the end of the semester I will be able to evaluate how successful he was in achieving his goals. Which demonstrates step six of the nursing process-evaluation.

Future Learning

In NURS 260 I will continue to learn more about the nursing process and start applying it to practice in NURS 370,380,430,350,440.
