Service to the Community

Service to the Community

This last summer I was fortunate to volunteer my time and work schedule to ALAW (American Lung Association of WA). It was uplifting to see what a few hours of service a week can do not only for a community but for yourself as well. I was able to learn experience in planning events, such as, Climb for Clean Air 2007, and also able to see how people struggle everyday to live with asthma.

Volunteering one's time to a community, cause, non-profit, etc. is  so easy to do, yet hard for anyone to implement and follow thru on. I have always wanted to work in a non-profit environment so when given the opportunity this last summer I jumped at the first chance I could.

To understand more of what ALAW does for the community and for the State of Washington feel free to visit their website.
