Educational Interests

While being at PLU, I have been challenged not only in my way of thinking but have also suceeded from the challenges placed on me from professors, staff, and students, that I never thought I could do.  Along with this, I have developed a love for Business, especially the marketing and management aspects of this field.

Page Sub-section Heading

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines.  Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." ~Mark Twain~

Personal Interests

God- My number one fan, he has been there for me in all of my trials and troubles.  He has seen me through good times and bad, and has shown me that through him I can do all things, for there is no mountain too high with God on my side.

Family- My family is another huge importance to me.  They have been there for me through all of life's ups and downs and have also picked me up when I fell and couldn't do it on my own.  My friends are also part of my family and without them as well I would not be the person who I am today.
Climbing/Hiking/Outdoor Recreation- I have always loved the outdoors and about two years ago, I started mountain climbing and instantaneously fell in love with it.  Many times, people ask me why I climb and I give them the same reply, "you only live once, why waste it."  This last summer, the owner of RMI (Lou Whittaker), where I work, told me before climbing Rainier, "If you're not living on the edge,  you're taking up too much space." Hearing that quote from a man who was the first American man to lead a team up the North Face of Everest (1984), inspired me to not only climb Rainier, but to live the rest of my life 'on the edge.'
