My Theory of Re-creation

Recreation Throughout the course I have seen how big of an importance recreation is in a person's life. It not only builds character, confidence, and teamwork but a lifetime of opportunities. Unfortunately, recreation seems to be the first need in life discarded and the last one funded in people's lives. Recreation 330 has shown me strategies to not only keep programs around, but to create new ones; making sure that every individual has the opportunity to live their life through recreation. My goal and dream in life is to BE the change in individuals lives who do not have the opportunity to engage in recreational activities, by providing them not only recreational opportunities but means to fund a life of re-creation.

Education for a Life of Service

My education at Pacific Lutheran University has allowed me the chance to see the world that I live in, in a different context. I have been challenged not only academically but personally to 'think outside of the box' and BE the change I wish to see in the world.

PLU wants every student to succeed not only in education but in their own personal lives as well. The education at PLU reflects that of the mission statement: "Educating for Lives of Thoughtful Inquiry, Service, Leadership, and Care."

"We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give."
Winston Churchill
