» ObjectiveEnact the role of service as a professionally educated member of society. » Nursing 270 I huge portion of our nursing 270 class is the health promotion half. A health teaching project was a major portion of the class and our duty was to enter society and educated them on important aspects of health that they themselves can manage. The aspect of health my partner and I decided to focus on was to promote self breast exams at Pacific Lutheran in the dorm rooms. The presentation on self breast exams is informational and important to the health of young women. We taught them not only the physical assessment component, but also the repercussions for those who suffer from breast cancer. Meeting Objectives and ReflectionActing as a health provider within the community is a very important aspect of nursing to me and I plan on implementing it more and more as schooling and my career progress. I like teaching my piers new ideas and anything to improve or maintain their health. In other classes, I'm sure more opportunities will arise for this objective and i am looking forward to them. |
