I am currently a first-year student at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. At this point I plan to major in Business, with a concentration in Global Management. I would also like to minor in Chinese and Global Studies.
I have lived in Snohomish, WA since kindergarten, and recently graduated in June of 2008 from Snohomish Senior High School. Throughout high school I was quite active in extra-curricular activities. I participated in my school's softball program for three years and had a great time being part of a very close-knit group of young women. I was also a member of the ASB Judicial Branch for three years. During my senior year I was vice president of the National Honor Society, president of the Chinese Club, and the drum major of the Panther Marching Band. These leadership experiences were positive toward my growth in group environments.
Aside from extra-curricular activities, I enrolled in very rigorous courses from elementary school through high school. I started the Honors Program in grade four and continued this program until graduation. I also took four AP classes and many College-in-the-High-School courses, including four years of studying Mandarin Chinese.
This year at PLU I live in the Chinese Wing in Hong International Hall. Hong has an amazing environment with five different language halls and provides a great opportunity for language and culture immersion. I am also a part of PLU's Chinese Studies Club.
