I have participated in hundreds of hours of community service over the last six years and will continue to serve the community for the rest of my life. My community service experience primarily includes:
»Sno-Wheels:Helping disabled children have fun with athletic activities after class at a local elementary school
» Key Club: A branch of the Kiwanis International Foundation, each member volunteered at many different activities throughout the year, including spaghetti feeds, card making, and the annual Kiwanis auction
» Panther Marching Band: Through this club, I participated in various different events around the city of Snohomish. These included performances at things such as welcoming Santa to town, the Snohomish Motorcycle Show, and the Veteran's Day ceremony at the G.A.R. Cemetery
» Snohomish School District: I have helped the Machias Elementary School PTG with many events (i.e. book fairs and carnivals), and have worked with the Foreign Language in the Elementary Schools program to teach Chinese at three schools within the district. I have also participated with the National Honor Society in numerous events to benefit the Snohomish School District (i.e. Snohomish Education Foundation Walk-a-thon)
» Chinese Information & Service Center - Seattle: I began volunteering with the CISC - Seattle at their annual Friendship Dinner & Auction. This experience lead me to then help as a leader during the youth summer day camp.
Each of these community service experiences has taught me how to work with people and develop strong social skills. I have also met a very diverse range of individuals which will benefit me in my future international business career.
