Program Promotion
1. City of Loveland,
Ability Building
Adventures
2. The objectives for using promotional tools and techniques
to promote this program are to grab the attention of the community by using
short catchy phrases and/or eye catching pictures that relate to the needs of
the target audience. My program is promoted through mail, E-mail, website,
Posters, and brochures. Each of these tools has a very professional and well
organized structure, which include, the name of the program on top in larger
writing, an explanation of the program, when, where, why, and then concluded
with my contact information and web address.
3. The target audience of my program is teen age youth, ages
12 – 17. My program is trying to reach the community teens, bringing them
together in unity, in order to strengthen social and diverse interactions. The
program is trying to influence two groups of people, parents and teens. A
parent may see the program as a great opportunity for their son or daughter to
gain experience, or a teen may see the program and find it very exciting and
fun and possibly filling their need for leisure activity.
4. The key messages that I want to communicate to my target
audience is that this program is designed to help build skill, strength, and
self motivation, as well as teamwork throughout many different adventurous
experiences. This is a way to take advantage of what is offered and to fill the
needs that are unfulfilled in the area of recreation. Physical and social needs
are very important and must be strengthened while being involved with others,
through activities.
5. Some of the most effective promotional tools for our
program are posters, website, and mail-outs. Posters can be placed in store
windows, school billboards, parks, or also handed out. It is a little pricey to
make quality colorful posters, but once that is accomplished, the information
on the poster does the promoting itself and makes life a little easier. Next,
our website is a great way for people to find out more detailed information
about the program or programs we offer. Our website would be located on the
posters, on other websites, or on our mail-outs. Mail-outs would be brochures
or posters mailed out to people in the community. These would include detailed
and/or important information about the program or programs. The mail-outs would
be well organized and easy to read and understand. Pictures, different word
fonts and colors are the key to catching the eyes of the target audience, before
they throw it out without reading it.
6. Without these techniques, posters, website, and
mail-outs, our program wouldn’t reach its goal. Like I mentioned a little
earlier, posters are a great way to be creative and artistic, while learning
what the community needs. Eye catching pictures, fonts and color are all
important in capturing the attention of the target audience. This is why I
believe my program will grow and fulfill the goals that are in place. Posters
will be cheaper than radio, TV, and many other promotional tools. Also, as I
talked about earlier, our website and mail-outs will be a big part in
effectively reaching my target audience. Our website address will be on our
posters and mail-outs, as well as other websites or resources. Much important
information is found on the website. Mail-outs are also important and useful
when it comes to capturing the target audience. Both mail-outs and our website
are great ways for people to see pictures of past events and to read about the
good things people are saying about the program.
In a way, the more money and energy spent on promotion and
advertising, the greater chance people will sign up for the program, which may
lead to another…and…another after that. The more people that get involved, the
more likely they are to share with their friends and family. This becomes a
great advertising tool, all through word of mouth. Even though much money or
time may be spent on designing posters and other advertising tools, word of
mouth becomes a great way for people to hear and know about the program.
