Customers:
The City of Loveland
consists of many white people, some African Americans and very few Hispanic or
Latinos, Asian, American Indian, and Alaska Native. Just over half the
population are female and just under half are male. Most of the age group is
over 18 and under 65, and over half the men and women are married. The average
family size is 3 and over half the families own their house. The average family
income is $54,337/year. 19.3% of the people are disabled. A high percentage of
people are high school graduates and about a quarter of the people have a
Bachelor’s degree or higher.
Our Target Audience:
Our programs are similar to the existing Parks and
Recreation, but our target audience is mainly the youth, focusing on middle
school to early high school. Our programs also include adults, seniors, and every
type of person from disabled to Hispanic, poor to rich and everywhere in between.
Characteristics of
Audience:
Our target audience ranges from about 12-16 years in age,
both male and female. Most students are currently in middle school or early
high school. Middle class would describe the larger portion of our audience. Most
of the older students work in retail. A small amount of participants are
disabled, but still involved in certain activities designed for them.
Concerns, Wants,
Needs, and Assets:
This audience needs positive and fun role models, which our
staff offers, and they want to be a part of our programs, because they truly
are life-changing.
Cultural
Considerations:
Staff who speak other languages, other than English, should
be hired and placed in the appropriate places, in order to fully include every
culture. Most events have mixed cultures, which gives students an opportunity
to learn about others’ cultures and lifestyles.
