INTEGRATION
We believe that what students come to know is grounded in holistic teaching and learning practices that integrate, within a democratic and inclusive community, students' prior experiences with content and skills. What individual students eventually "learn" and, more importantly, come to understand as they interact within classroom and school communities, has its origins in the development of inter- and multi-disciplinary learning environments in which the components of a cognitive, social, and affective curriculum are not separated. Teachers who complete our program will develop the professional knowledge they need in order to create integrative curricula that support such learning environments.
