Hi, every one! My name is Yang Cao. I'm from Suzhou, China 
Now, I'd like to talk something about my learning experience. There had been a lot of famous people in my hometown,such as Fan Zhongyan.
Most of them were scholars. So you can see in my hometown, people think
highly of education, there's an old saying: study is the best thing in
the world. These years a lot of Suzhou students go to study abroad.
Some of them get full scholarship, some of them get part scholarship
like me, some of them pay for the tuition by themselves. I'm lucky, my
parents support me a lot. Of course, I succeeded in entering the best
school in my hometown from elementary school to high school.

I am the person who need a longer time to adapt to the
new environment than average people, so when I entered elementary school, at
first I thought it was the same with the kindergarten. I didn't pay
attention to the classes, and even sometimes didn't do homework. So as you can imagine, I received low
marks in the first semester. But at that time I was not conscious of
that. I just did the same thing for 1 year. At last, when it was
the beginning of the 2nd Year, I know I could not dawdle away my
life. My parents also encouraged
me. They always believe that I am the
best child in the world. After that
summer vacation, I totally changed! I
found it was easy to follow teachers. My
classmates and teachers were surprised at me.
I kept top 3 in my grade from that time.
Middle School: Lida Middle School
I
succeeded in entering Lida Middle School. After entering this school, I
found that all of my classmates were talented and competitive because
we were the best students in my hometown even in my province. Teachers
were strict with us, suddenly I found burden on my shoulder. After a
while, I found that I adapted to this environment and I found I liked
my school more and more. It was such a beautiful school. These 3 years,
I joined a lot of clubs and groups, such as my classmates and I visited
old citizens every year during Chinese New Year holiday. Most of them
were above 70 years old. Their children could not take care of
them. Life was hard for them, especially during New Year. So I
led 4 of my classmates visiting them. I helped them cleaning room and
cooking dishes, and we entertained them.

After
3 years in middle school, I found that I was more and more confident
than before. As the best school in my province, Suzhou high school has
a unique teaching style which is different from other schools. Our
teachers left a little homework for us. We all know that is not enough.
So we looked for exercise by ourselves. I know my teachers want us to
nurture self-study habit.

Although
I came PLU since February, I can definitely tell you I like PLU.
It is such a beautiful campus. Although it is a little small, it is a
very unique school. Because Lutheran church isn't very common in US,
and squirrels are not common either.
Although
2 months is a short time, I think I have learnt a lot from my friends,
classmates and my professors. All of them have teached me a lot. They
make me understand knowledge; they make me understand American Culture;
they make me use different ways to think about problems.
