Context-sensitive Help menu (top)
If you choose the 'Search' or any other menu at the top of the Webmail window, click on the 'Help' link and you'll get information on that menu item.
Opening window (top)
In addition to the menu items (Compose, Addresses, Folders, etc.), you also see the following:
Mailbox quota (top)
A new feature that appears at the top of the left-hand column gives you the ability to see what percentage of your mailbox is currently used. The colored bar beneath the percentage is green as long as you're within your quota limitations. If you start to get close to your quota, the bar will change to yellow. When you are in danger of losing mail, the color turns to red.
Webmail options (top)
You may want to set up some options before you begin using your new Webmail. Within the 'Options' page, you'll find topics such as 'Personal Information', 'Folder Preferences' and 'Message Filters'.
Create folders (top)
To create folders, click on the 'Folders' menu item at the top of the Webmail window. To set preferences on these folders, you'll use the 'Options' menu (see image above).
Filter messages (top)
Want to move all of your PLU identified Spam messages to Trash? Here's the place to go. From the menu items, you'll choose 'Options', then Message Filters. A message filter is very helpful in organizing your messages. Create a folder for a particular subject or class and then create the filter to move all incoming messages with identifying criteria to the new folder.
Search messages (top)
You can search for particular messages based on specific criteria such as 'from', 'body', 'subject', etc.
Adding address lists (top)
You can either import or export address books. CSV ("Comma separated values") format is commonly used.
Composing messages (top)
If you've clicked on the 'Options' menu, selected 'Display Preferences' and changed the setting in "Compose Messages in New Window" (changed to 'Yes'), then you'll be able to view the 'Compose' window over the top of your message list. You can even click on the 'Compose in HTML' button to create your message in HTML.
Address book search (top)
Once the 'Compose' window is open, click on the 'Addresses' buton to search for a name in PLU's address book. Once the name is found, clicking on the 'To' link automatically places the name in the 'To' field. The address book stays open until you close it. You may need to move it below or to one side so that you can see that the address has been added.
Attaching files (top)
After you've completed the text of your message, you may want to add a file. Move to the bottom of the 'Compose' window, browse for the file and once the name appears in the 'Attach' box, click on the 'Add' button to attach it to your message.
