the University, utilizing both professional staff as well as student
staff.

Law Enforcement
The PLU Campus Safety department contracts with the Pierce County Sheriff's Department
(PCSD) to have deputies working specifically on the streets surrounding
the University, assisting the school and community by providing a fast
response time and legal authority when it's needed. This
relationship effectively makes the school a Contract City and allows us
to take priority in emergency situations. This additional
presence has helped in creating a stronger relationship between the

Our local fire department is Central Pierce Fire and Rescue (CPFR). The closest station is less than ten blocks away
