Appetizers with Engaging Talk »
Food
for thought-literally. Twice a month,
the DCenter brings you Appetizers with Engaging Talk. This hour long, informal talk centers on
topics such as homosexuality, women, and religion; gender roles in
relationships; and the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s. Come and take part in meaningful conversations,
hear other’s perspectives and worldviews, and have a little bite to eat in
the process.
Taste of Tacoma »
Join
the DCenter as we travel to various places in the Tacoma area to sample food from
different cultures. Come and
nourish your soul and learn about an important feature of all our
cultures-FOOD!

Students of Color Retreat »
The
Students of Color Retreat, offered during the Fall semester, is a time
for students, faculty, administrators, and staff to connect and discuss
issues of diversity, culture, race, and racism, and how these subjects
affect their every day lives here at PLU.
The Retreat is focused on creating a safe space for people of color
at PLU, and developing strategies for change.

year the Diversity
Center wants to
ensure that our students of color, their families, and friends, are
welcomed to the PLU community. The
Students of Color Family Reception
introduces families’ of student to color to their new “families’” here at
PLU.
