Cover Letter to Future Employer

I am writing to introduce myself to you as a student of Pacific Lutheran University School of Nursing. Additionally I am enrolled in reserve officer training corps (ROTC) and looking forward to attaining my commission in May of 2010 as a 2nd Lieutenant.
I have a very strong academic background in nursing combined with over five years work experience as a surgical technologist. While stationed in the Army, I achieved the rank of Sergeant and deployed to Iraq with the 86th Combat Support Hospital. I have extensive training on the Essentris computer data base and CHCS which is used throughout Army hospitals. My current preceptorship at Madigan Army Medical Center Hospital, in Fort Lewis, allows me to further develop and strengthen my nursing skills as a critical care nurse and network with Army officers.
As I believe that I could make a significant and valuable contribution in your firm; I would appreciate if you give me the opportunity to discuss how my education and experience will be helpful to you. With my past experience working in trauma and the leadership skills I have acquired in the military will ensure my success in your organization. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
Zelalem Desta
