You don’t need to have deep pockets to make a
difference in the world.
Doing what you can as a donor and as a volunteer is all it takes, said Susan Andresen ’99. Although Andresen didn’t attend PLU on a Q Club scholarship, she has been a Q Club member since the year she graduated and she is an active PLU volunteer. “Giving something back is important,” she said.
“I’m just a basic Q Club member now because, as a recent grad, I don’t yet have the financial resources of alumni who have been in their careers longer and can give more,” Andresen said. “But I find $25 a month to be quite budgetable.”
Andresen also is co-chair of PLU’s Graduates of the Last Decade (GOLD) committee. “I’m a firm believer that if we all give a little bit it will make a big difference and help sustain PLU in the long run.”
Andresen is a human resources professional at PEMCO Mutual Insurance Co. in Seattle.
