About Me

About Season Eckstrom

My name is Season Eckstrom and I am 22 years old. Currently, I attend Pacific Lutheran University and plan on graduating in May of 2008.  I feel that I am a very determined person who always gives 100 percent in everything I do. I love being challenged and enjoy trying new things. We only have one life to live so I want to ensure I live mine to the fullest. I have always been a person who enjoys learning and expanding my knowledge through continued education.
During my free time I enjoy playing fastpitch. I began playing at age five and continued through high school. Though I no longer play competitively, I still enjoy playing for fun with family and friends. Dance is another passion of mine.  Dancing provides me with the opportunity to creatively express myself, forget about all the stresses of life, and simply have fun. During my first two years of college I participated in Dance Production, performing a total of four dances during those two years. These performances were the most attended events on campus.

More About Me...

plu I was born and raised in the beautiful        state of Washington, living in Lacey since the age of five. Being the youngest of six, I was fortunate enough to have a lot of role models to look up to in my life. I am the type of person who strives to live life to the fullest. Though I have not always succeeded in all that I do, I have no regrets about the way my life has gone thus far. I feel that every experience is an opportunity to learn. I see no failures, only opportunities to learn.

Education

My transition to college was not as smooth as I hoped. After graduating with highest honers from River Ridge High School, I was ready to get out of Lacey, WA and go to college. I spent my first two years of higher education at Occidental college; a very small private school located in the large city of Los Angeles, CA. While in Los Angeles I met some of the most amazing people and had some wonderful experiences. My favorite memory was going to Disneyland with one of my best friends. Unfortunately, Occidental College did not have an option for a Business Administration degree; with the closest substitute being an Economics degree. After taking a variety of economics courses over a two year period I came to the conclusion that majoring in economics was simply not the road I wanted to take.

After making the final decision to transfer, I decided that I would transfer to a school closer to home. In September of 2006, Pacific Lutheran University became my new school. My major is Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. Deciding to become a business major was a relatively easy decision for me to make because I greatly enjoyed the business classes I was able to take throughout my high school career. After declaring my major in Business Administration, I decided to concentrate in marketing because I love to interact with others and feel I posses the skills necessary to connect with consumers in a unique way.

Inspirational Work Experiences

Throughout my college career, I had the opportunity to work at a variety of jobs. While at Occidental College, I worked with a program called L.A. Bridges. My peers and I tutored and counseled 6th grade "at risk" students at a local middle school. This experience impacted my life because I knew that I was truly making a difference in the lives of these kids. The kids had so much personality and talent that they truly inspired me to appreciate everything I have in life. I will never forget that experience.

The most recent job I had that truly touched my heart was working at the Pierce County AIDS Foundation. Since I was an administrative assistant I had the opportunity to interact with clients on a daily basis. Seeing the heartache, strength, and hope in the client's eyes humbled me. I heard stories from individuals who have been through it all and still manage to keep their heads up and live their lives to the fullest. Helping those who live with HIV/AIDS is a cause I truly believe in. Once again, I was truly inspired to make a difference in this world.
