PERIODICALS
:  Periodical indexes provide the most efficient subject access to journals,
magazines, and newspapers.  Following are some indexes you might want to use for this project:


•    ATLA, (via EBSCO)
•    Catholic Periodical and Literature Index (via EBSCO)
•    Religion and Philosophy Collection (via EBSCO)
•    Religious & Theological Abstracts (via PLU Library Homepage)


LOCATING PERIODICALS/JOURNALS: Use Journals at PLU to identify the call number of the journal you need.  Journals at PLU will also help you locate full-text journals online.


REFERENCE MATERIALS



HOW CAN I FIND A COMMENTARY? : Some well known commentaries are listed in the reference materials above.  To find additional commentaries go to the library catalog (http://library.plu.edu)     then:

 

1.      Do a Keyword search.  In the “Search For” box type the word commentary and whatever you want a commentary of for example:  commentary “new testament” or commentary romans. 

or

2.      Do a Subject Browse search.  In the “Search For” box type a subject heading such as

            Bible. N.T. Luke—Commentaries    or Bible. N.T. Epistles of John – Commentaries.

 


BEYOND PLU : PLU's library may not own all of the materials you want to use.   We are part of a consortium of libraries that includes:

•    Northwest University
•    St. Martin's University
•    University of Puget Sound
•    Seattle Pacific University
•    Seattle University

You may use your PLU ID card to check out materials from these libraries.  




If you wish to order from Interlibrary Loan, be sure to allow sufficient time for the materials to arrive.
