Beginning My Future... My name is Amanda Ellingson and I am 18 years old. I am a freshman at Pacific Lutheran University. I plan on to major in nursing and I am currently applying to the School of Nursing at Pacific Lutheran University. Next year, I plan on continuing my education at PLU in their School of Nursing. When I have finished my education I plan to start my career as a registered nurse. Nursing There are many reasons why I am aspiring to be a nurse. First off, both my father and sister suffer from myotonic dystrophy, while my mother is battling for energy due to a mitochondrial syndrome. I have watched my closest family members go through rough times and I have seen how different people in the medical field have helped them. A career in the nursing industry would allow me to make a difference and impact others life. I recently volunteered at Tacoma General Hospital and it was a very rewarding experience and I know if I was to become a nurse it would be just as rewarding. |
