Mitigation Projects

PLU has just completed seismic retrofits of two campus residence halls - Hinderlie and Hong - under the FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program.

The university is applying for two new seismic retrofit grants under this program for Foss and Pflueger. PLU has a FEMA-approved hazard mitigation plan, as required by the grant.

The public is invited to a meeting to review and respond to the proposed projects on Wednesday, August 26 at noon and 6 p.m. at the Garfield Book Company located at 208 Garfield St S in Parkland (Tacoma).

Emergency Supplies

Students and employees should have a 3-day emergency kit. You may purchase an emergency kit at the Garfield Book Company at PLU. Or to prepare your own kit, go to www.ready.gov or www.emd.wa.gov/preparedness/prep_prepare_year.shtml.

Sign Up For Emergency Text Messages

PLU can alert students and employees to emergency events on campus by sending a text message to your cell phone.
