ADVANCING DEMOCRACY, DEVELOPMENT AND PEACE:
The Namibia study tour
The Norway/Namibia Project was established in order to enable students
to become world citizens, aware of global problems and committed to creating
constructive responses to these problems in the spirit of democracy and
peace. Pacific Lutheran University has formed a partnership with Hedmark
University College, Elverum, Norway; and the University of Namibia, Windhoek,
Namibia.
The three institutions have formally agreed to study peace, democracy, and development together, drawing on their respective faculties and students. Cooperative activities began in 2001.Pacific Lutheran University administers the initiative, through the Scandinavian Area Studies Program and the Wang Center for International Programs.
