Facility & Event Use

Selection of Event Locations
The various locations available for public programming are designed for specific purposes and have limitations on use.  For a full list of event facilities click here.

  • Chris Knutzen and University Center Rooms: The University Center is designed for co-curricular programs and public programming. University classes are not scheduled in the University Center. Space for weekly meetings (example: every Wednesday at 4 pm) is limited to provide a balance between weekly events and one time only events.

  • Scandinavian Cultural Center: The Scandinavian Cultural Center is a working cultural center and museum. During the academic year, the Center's public hours are scheduled on Tuesdays & Wednesdays from 11 am to 3 pm and Sunday from 1 pm to 4 pm.  Non-Cultural Center events are scheduled around public hour times.

  • Lagerquist Hall and Mary Baker Russell Music Center: Because of music events, recitals, classes, and touring groups, this venue has limited availability during the academic year.

  • Eastvold Auditorium: Because of theatre, opera, and dance programs, this venue has limited availability during the academic year.

  • Olson Auditorium: Because of classes, athletic competitions, and sport practices and programs, this venue has limited availability during the academic year.

  • Classrooms: With the exception of regular academic classes, all scheduling is reserved through Conferences & Events. As summer and weekend class opportunities expand, classroom space for events is becoming more and more limited. Larger classrooms such as Admin 101, Leraas Lecture, Ingram 100, and Xavier 201 are also used for community outreach and periodic testing (GMAT, MCAT, etc.).
  • Event Setup/Equipment - Tables & Chairs
The following policies apply to requesting tables and/or chairs:

  • At least one week's notice is required for a table/chair request. Please order tables/chairs as soon as possible. Requests are satisfied on a first come, first serve basis.
  • You may submit an online form or turn in an event request to our office.
  • Only warehouse tables and chairs may be used in venues other than the University Center. The University Center's inventory will not be used to support events in other venues due to 'transportation' damage and building support service requirements.
  • Delivery of chairs/tables will not be made to off campus locations, including PLU owned houses.
  • In the case that inventory of warehouse tables/chairs does not meet the request for an event, Conferences and Events will need to contact a rental company and applicable expenses will be charged to the sponsoring group/department.
  • PLU tables/chairs may not be rented or borrowed for personal use.
