Admission & Retention of Students

Standing Committee: Admission & Retention of Students

Membership: Four members elected from the faculty at large for three-year overlapping terms.

Advisory Membership: Provost, registrar, director of admissions, director of advising, director of financial aid, vice president for student life, and chair of the Faculty Campus Life Committee, or designees.

General Purpose: To study problems, recommend policy, and, in general, represent the faculty in matters dealing with admission, financial assistance, and student academic status.

Specific Duties:
  1. To serve on the University Committee on Admission and Retention of Students
  2. To report to the faculty at least annually concerning the full scope of responsibilities included in the University Committee on Admission and Retention of Students.
  3. To act on applications at the request of the director of admissions, and by consent of the committee.
  4. To act on the status of academic probationary students at the request of the registrar or provost and by consent of the committee.
  5. To act on applications for readmission when scholarship is a factor involved at the request of the registrar or provost and by consent of the committee.
  6. To provide a representative to the University Diversity Committee.
