During the summer of 2008, I was hired as an intern for the
marketing department at GM Nameplate, Inc. in Seattle, Washington. GM Nameplate
is a custom printing manufacturer of quality nameplates, labels, and membrane
switches. Top customers include Boeing, Microsoft, and Johnson & Johnson.
My central responsibilities involved examining and analyzing
key industries and researching lucrative prospective companies for GM Nameplate’s
marketing and sales department. The detailed
reports were then given to GM Nameplate’s nationwide sales representatives to increase
sales potential. During my time at GM Nameplate, I also developed a competitor report that
analyzed the strengths and weaknesses of key competitors.
I also conducted a quarterly customer satisfaction survey. I
gained valuable experience in the design, implementation and analysis of email
surveys. I produced a full-scale marketing research report on my findings.
My experience at GM Nameplate was invaluable and allowed me to implement my knowledge into working skills. I was offered to have my internship extended throughout my senior year at PLU, which I accepted.
