Fall Faculty Conference 2005 - Gen Ed Discussions

PLU Fall Faculty Conference - General Education Discussions

The documents on this site provide an analysis of Fall Faculty Conference - General Education Discussions at PLU. Five concurrent discussion sessions all addressed the same questions concerning general education review at PLU, regarding "Hopes", "Fears", and "Needs":

  1. What hopes do you have for the process and its possible outcomes?
  2. What fears and anxieties do you have for the process and its possible outcomes?
  3. As a scholar and professional teacher, what do you need - in terms of evidence, information, and concepts - to help in thinking productively about the curriculum?
Faculty wrote out answers to all of these questions. Members of the Ad Hoc Steering Group on General Education have analyzed all 800+ faculty responses to these questions, in various categories.

The report, charts, and graphs on this page tell an emerging story of faculty hopes, needs, and fears with regard to general education at PLU.
