Travel

I have been blessed to travel places around the world where I have been able to spread the word of God and to serve others. I pray that I may have opportunities to travel in the future to advance Gods Kingdom.

Tijuana, Mexico

The four years that I was in High School I spent my Spring Breaks in Tijuana building houses for families in need. We spent a week in an orphanage and commuted back and forth from the site that our house was to be built. Each site had a team of 11 people. Each year my church builds six houses each Spring Break. The houses are two rooms, 11 by 22 feet with three windows and an exterior door and an interior door to open into the second room. Although the houses do not have pluming or electricity they are quite nice comparatively.

Banchory, Scotland

The summer before my freshman year at PLU I took a trip with my church to Scotland for three weeks. We spent the first four days in Banchory getting to know everyone who was involved with the trip (people form Seattle and from Scotland). We then traveled to a neighborhood in near by Aberdeen called Tillidrone. While there we stayed at a church and went out during the day to help organizations in Tillidrone who were helping the community. Tillidrone is a rough neighborhood with a reputation for having a lot of substance abuse. When we left Tillidrone we returned to Banchory and did touristy things. Since we were in Scotland we visited many castles. We went to Edinburough, which is one of the biggest cities in Scotland and the castle there is one of the larges and biggest tourist attractions. We were engulfed in the Scottish culture and it was so amazing to experience such a different way of life.
