How?


To Schedule An Appointment....

If your healthcare need is not urgent, schedule a regular appointment in advance by calling 535-7337.  Regular appointments are scheduled for ongoing concerns such as headaches, skin problems, allergies, sleep problems, back pain, depression, anxiety or medication refills.

If you have an illness or injury that can not wait for a regular appointment, call 535-7337 to schedule a same day appointment.  If you want advice about whether or when you need an appointment, call to speak with a nurse.

Physical exams for sports, travel, camp and employment are generally scheduled in advance.  You should bring any special forms with you, and be prepared to answer questions about your immunization history.

When you make an appointment, tell us what your needs are so we can schedule sufficient time to address them.

To Cover Expenses......

Many services at the health center are provided at no cost.  Charges are made for services such as laboratory tests, immunizations, medications, allergy shots, and physicals.  You can bill your student account or pay with cash or check.  If you have health insurance the costs may be covered by your insurance plan.  You will be provided with a receipt for services that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Inability to pay should not be a barrier to needed healthcare.  If you have concerns about expenses discuss them with the health center staff.  They will help you consider options or make special arrangements.

To Make the Most of Your Medical Appointment....

Think about your concerns.  Tell the provider when the problem began, how it has progressed, what changes have occurred.  If you have a concern you think is silly or irrational---don't be afraid to voice it.

Be prepared to answer questions about your health history, medications, allergies, habits.  We routinely ask women about menstrual periods and if they may be pregnant to ensure that medical care will not pose a risk to a developing fetus.

Ask questions freely about everything including your diagnosis, when to expect improvement, treatment options, lab tests, side effects from medications, follow-up care, or any personal concerms.

Bring a friend, if needed, for personal support, transportation, or language translation.
