1. Use the radio buttons to choose function 1, pressing the "Function chosen" button when complete.
    1. Is function 1 continuous?
    2. Use the first slider to set the focal point on x=2, pressing the "Point Picked" button when complete. Then use the second slider to estimate the slope of function 1 at x=2. Approximately what is the slope?
    3. Press the "Slope Estimated" button, and then use the third slider to "zoom in" on the point x=2. When you have "zoomed in" as far as the applet allows, you can readjust the slope of the green line. Now approximately what is the slope? Compare your answers to part b. Did you measure slope fairly accurately by "eyeballing"?
    4. How far do you think it is necessary to "zoom in" on the function to estimate the slope well?
    5. Do you still think that function 1 is continuous?
  2. Press "reset," and then use the radio buttons to choose function 2. Do not be surprised, function 2 looks quite similar to function 1! Repeat all parts of question 1 for function 2.
  3. Repeat the process for function 3.
