General Description

Tenure-line appointment. Responsible for teaching six undergraduate courses in a 4-1-4 calendar. A strong applicant should be able to teach Graphic Design courses with a command of typography, image making, and visual exploration, focusing on commercial and institutional art applications. In addition to teaching, this position will include some student advising and departmental responsibilities. Applicant must have a commitment to design education and be able to address the needs of a diverse student population through course materials, teaching strategies, and advising.
Appointment as Associate Professor of Art is possible for a strong candidate who is able to serve effectively as department chair. And indication of interest in the department chair position as well as administrative credentials and experience should be included in the application.

Required Qualifications

Terminal degree is required.
Should have evidence of strong teaching ability.
Dedication to undergraduate education and collaborative learning is expected.
