Assistant Professor, full-time, tenure track position; salary commensurate with qualifications and experience + benefits package.
Responsibilities
- Teaching Lifetime Physical Activity (infancy through aging populations), Adapted Physical Activity, Foundations of Physical Activity, Principles of Training and Conditioning, and other courses depending on qualifications, interests and fit.
- Assisting with the placement and supervision of the internship program.
- Teaching activity courses within the Physical Activity Program of the General Education Program, including Personalized Fitness Programming, and may include contributions to the First-Year Experience Program.
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree within the area of exercise science, kinesiology, or a closely related discipline at the start of his or her appointment.
- Will place a high value on quality teaching and departmental service.
- Committed to the values and mission of the university and the department.
- Committed to supporting the integrated nature of health, physical education and exercise science and must be prepared to teach students from all majors in the department.
- An understanding of, and appreciation for, the integration of the liberal arts with professional education is also expected.
