PT; 3 days/wk: varies Mon – Fri, 8am – 5pm; will include one Sat/month

General Description

Medical Receptionist in an ARNP managed, family practice community clinic. Primary responsibility is for broad scope customer service responsibilities. Reports to the Director of the Wellness Clinic.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

Provide in-clinic and telephone appointment scheduling.
Originates and maintains medical records.
Heavy telephone communication with patients and other health care entities.
Working knowledge of all programs, contracts and insurance plans within the clinic.
Collection of appropriate fees.
Inventory, ordering and stocking of office supplies.
Interacts with clinic staff to ensure clinic flow.
Acts as interpreter for practitioner with Spanish speaking clients.
Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Excellent customer service skills.
Strong interpersonal communication skills and initiative.
Attention to detail is a must.
Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.
Familiar with medical terminology.
Work well as a team member.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods and change positions frequently.
Occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.
Must have adequate hearing and speech to communicate effectively on the telephone.

Required Qualifications

1 1/2 years current job-related experience in community health care setting. Education may substitute for some experience.
High school diploma or GED.
Finalist candidates must satisfactorily complete pre-employment background checks.

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual in Spanish.
Experience with a practice management system helpful.
