Position starts: July 1, 2008. Full-time; Monday – Friday. Multiple positions are available!

General Description

Twelve-month position features competitive salary, University benefits, furnished apartment, meal plan when available, and an aggressive professional development package. (Successful candidate is required to live in a residence hall.)

Essential Functions And Responsibilities

Responsible for overall residence operations in 1-3 residential communities with a maximum total student population of 360.
Select, train and supervise staff of 11-16 student Resident Assistants.
Promote and facilitate community building and student learning that enhances the living/learning environment in the residence halls.
Advise hall councils responsible for creating positive community in the residence halls.
Serve as Conduct Officer within the University Student Conduct System.
Contribute to the Residential Life mission through departmental liaison-ships with other campus offices.
Oversee residence hall and community development budgets.
Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Leadership skills and an ability to work effectively with university students.
Knowledge of student learning and development theories and ability to integrate into daily responsibilities.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and other departments.
Regularly required to walk, stand, climb stairs, and sit for long periods of time during the course of regular job duties.

Required Qualifications

1.    Bachelor’s degree and post-undergraduate residential life staff experience.
2.    Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.
3.    Finalist candidates must successfully complete pre-employment background checks.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in College Student Affairs or related field.
