In 2008 L.I.F.E. sponsored a Great Decisions (GD) discussion group and will again sponsor the program in 2009. Tentative plans are being made based on the success of the program last year. The eight discussion topics will begin on Thursday, January 29 and meet every other Thursday with the last session on April 30.
Dates: 1/29; 2/12; 2/26; 3/12; 3/26; 4/2; 4/16; 4/30 . The class time is 1:00—3:00 p.m.
The four global issues and the four geographic issues for 2009 selected by the Foreign Policy Association are:
Energy and the U.S. Economy
Global Food Crisis
Human Rights
Rising Powers
The Artic
Cuba
Egypt
Pakistan and Afghanistan
Participants in the discussion series are encouraged to purchase the eight topic briefing book, but it is not mandatory. The plan is to have a copy of the 2009 briefing book in the reference section of Puyallup Library which participants can use.

L.I.F.E. is seeking a Great Decisions coordinator. The responsibilities would be to encourage the members of the class to be discussion facilitators, and a few other small tasks. Program Committee members will assist you.
