Wellness Challenge 2006

What is the Wellness Challenge?

The Wellness Challenge is your chance to start the school year off on a healthy foot.  It is a six-week committment to your mind, body & spiritual wellness.

How do I Jump at the Challenge?

1.  Register!

2.  Set a goal!  Use the Self-Assessment to determine appropriate goals for you.

3.  Keep track!  Use the Tracking Form to keep your wellness in mind week after week.

Any other suggestions?

Lola the Live It Frog realizes that everyone is starting the Challenge from a different point.

Lola suggests the following:

1 hour a week of intentional mind activity

1 hour a week of intentional spirit activity

3 20-minute body activities per week

The Wellness Challenge is about self-improvement. Only you can be the judge of what your mind, body, and spirit needs to be well. Use the Self Assessment to identify the areas on which you might want to focus. Set realistic goals for yourself and use the Tracking Form to check how you are doing.

SPIRIT

·         Chapel - every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10:30 am

·         Attend “Questions along the Way” on Wednesday evenings

·         Start a personal journal

·         Do something for YOU

MIND

·          Visit one of Tacoma’s many great museums

·         Attend campus lectures

·         Read a book for fun!

BODY
·         Explore the Fitness Center

·         Join the YMCA, Curves, or Weight Watchers (Call PLU Human Resources at ext. 7185 for more information about discounts for PLU faculty and staff)

·         Do the Harstad Half Marathon
